Put it in a b.l.t to make your teeth look freaky in the dark.

Thats a great idea Avnish. Electroluminescent materials are great for this. How about a book mark design! That would sell a ton! How do you plan on powering it by the way?

I don't think it needs power. It looks like a sheet of semi transparent luminous plastic. It should work. I can imagine the print standing out clearly immediately underneath. The small print on the photo seems to explain how it is powered but I can't read it.

Very neat idea. To those who couldn't read the text, it says it's illuminated by FOLEDs, (something) organic LEDs. And if you notice, it's placed beneath the page you are reading and light intensity is adjustable.

can you invite one of them for drawing something in the dark??

Very good idea! However the challenge is to have the light source run without(electroluminiscence as mentioned by Osman) or very less power and the design detail that will make it hold onto the pages of a book. You have to consider the different positions in which a person reads book and the structure of books(thick/thin/hardbound/paperback/?). The product should 'hold' good in all possibilities. I use a product with a series of LEDS similar to this but it runs on two button cells! However it does not last more than an hour's reading :(

Well, if you are reading at home you can always plug it in right?

If these were cheap and disposable one could use the chemical luminescence that was popular some years ago. The reaction could be triggered by pulling off a tab. For emergency use mainly.

No, Osman, if you jave asked me; the product I use is made in China. It has a flat spring steel metal clip and works well only with thick hard bound books. You can clip on its spine. But with paperbacks, it slips.

On Duty - Are you Avnish? I am confused:)

cool idea, but do you have to keep scrolling the device down as you read, or would it illuminate an entire page at a time?

Low level light for reading is bad for the eyes... but i see other uses for it
