a stool is just a contemporary furniture that gives you a multifunctional use
you can use it as a stool , a shelving unit , or anything that you want it to be
Feels uninspired. Modularity, if done well, is an excllent design feature. This piece is using it as a crutch.

If if was black and about one meter high I think it would go well in a modernistic home

hmmm, I would worry about people trying to stack them to use them instead of getting a ladder, then falling off, getting hurt, and suing. Plus, if you wanted to use the item as a stool, then store it in your child's room as a shelving unit, there goes your stool. Probably best to sell them as modular shelving units with a contemporary design. More colors would be key in that sense as you would need to match them to the rest of the decos.

looks like "Ulmer Hocker, Max Bill" - see Bauhaus. Unless the "Hocker" was much easier to build. Same idea.

I love modular things, plus I like the colors. I'm always looking to maximize storage space in my tiny apartment, plus I'm short, so the idea of a stool you could use to reach stuff, plus store stuff is great! However, it might benefit from some small rails or something to hold the contents of the storage unit in place if it were to be used as a stool at the same time...
shelving?! anything i want it to be?! come on, i like it but don't be ridiculous!
could be functional in a childs room. Change up the colors for sure.
