eXcalibur is a locking knife storage device. The carry handle is pressed down
and rotated to bring the knives out of the slots so that they can be removed.
I would buy this if it could be locked, so taht children can't get the knives.

Nice colors, but when I am in the kitchen, I like everything accessible. I would be upset at having to turn the design around to get to a particular knife. Even more so if my hands are not clean.

Would be good for traveling with a camping vehicle. That way your knives are safe in storage and aren't going to cut anything up or loose the sharp edge, and when you get to where you are going, set up is a snap. Maybe include a sharpener on there somewhere too so people can keep using the knives for a while.

Shabo: Whole thing takes too much space to carry around for camping, unless you take your car with you.
David had a nice idea how to make this useful, otherwise I'll stick to my block o' wood.

Just keep your kids away from the knives and I think youll be fine with an ordinary knife block.

Its not Terry's its my Excalibur. No problems throwing this one into a lake.
my mother just hung the knife magnet a little higher when i was born. seems like a lot of wasted space. you should make it hover, so it's always hovering behind you ready to give you a knife at a moments notice.
Can you have a two-step picture? An open-and-closed picture to it's more clear what's going on.
...just brilliant for safety sake, well done!
seems like a lot of space is wasted
I like this.
It's an elegent design for a non existent problem.
we like the kinder egg surprise effect but after a few seconds you see a lot of volume going to waste, the good old knife block still wins for me!
some things don't need to be designed.
Make one for guns.
been there done that

Nice...It's not just about safety. This would save counter space as well..color has got to go.
i have worked for knife blocks before and this is a cool idea. Knifes won't get dirty and dusty. and it's safe. That's a great idea i like it.
I can see there being a space issue considering the clearance needed to expand the knives for the product. I love the idea though.
