Now I saw this ever so briefly on the film 'The Island' and then it was gone. But for me I searched and searched and found nothing until this! Now this would give me a small interest in learning skydiving if and when I fell off it! I want one...!!!

It would be great if we could get the designer himself post the concept. Do you think you could find him?

It will definitely be a combined effort but I'm sure we can all pitch in to discover the designer... I'll be on the lookout!

ever wonder why planes don't fly so close to the ground or why harriers crash so often?

starwars anyone?

The 16 year old inside me screams for one, and no matter what its top speed is, it needs to go twice as fast. Now the 32 year old in me knows better, first the fact that for it to work, it has to direct at least 1000lbs of thrust at the ground the entire time it's on. So given the tank size, that's about a two minute flight. As sad as it is, even with a mortality rate of 95%, I still would take it if it was given to me.

LOUDER THAN 30 HARLEYS! Thanks, but I'd rather keep my hearing, and also avoid the neighborhood lynch mob.

I have one, It's ok. Good for traffic drugs back and forth with lights out and night vison on :P

(Mon, 23 Oct 2006 16:38:35 GMT) vlad says

Whats top speed of it? If >1 mach so your travel will be noiseless for YOU and alot of noise and dust for OTHERS. 2 minutes flight is not a problem these days. I vote NO becouse of antigravity would be invented someday.

Sam - Harriers only crash often when they are given to Americans - Brits handle them jus' fine

(Sat, 04 Nov 2006 02:31:06 GMT) arne says

cool. but it's just embarrasing how this is even considered being made. what a waste, some people could use that for.. hm.. I don't know.. food maybe. btw.. man did that movie suck, it was just so fantasticly crappy.

(Mon, 06 Nov 2006 01:57:37 GMT) NAVPAQ says

So says Vlad "The Design Impaler" @arne: ...your thoughts on "space tourism"? I have a problem with the word "NO"! designer...

oh man! put on a missle rack and the government will buy tons, as a low cost replacement to the multi-billion dollar warplanes!

(Tue, 07 Nov 2006 21:50:29 GMT) Shabo says

Wait, what's top speed? 550 km/hr? (For silly Americans like myself that don't use metric, that's 341.55 mph) HOW DO YOU HOLD ON TO THAT??? cool concept though

Where do you fit the INSANE amount of fuel it required to drive it anywhere?

100% yes, this is an amazing concept that needs to be looked into, we need to find the designer and a company that will mass market these machines, cool...

(Tue, 11 Sep 2007 22:15:24 GMT) Chris McCarthy says

a concept doesnt have to be a working design, just an idea.. yes i like the star wars pod racing link, and yes if i was given one i wouldnt say no.. its just the road/ air laws that need to be put in place which is the only thing that will stay whether its a concept or not.

(Tue, 11 Sep 2007 22:23:32 GMT) Chris McCarthy says

okay the idea of the design must include some ability for it to work

(Fri, 06 Feb 2009 19:49:37 GMT) G. G. says

I see the death toll increase dramatically fun idea but for the public but I see many organ donors
